I am a social worker and therapist with a special interest in the fields of mental health, resilience and relationship work. I utilise an integrative approach based on an understanding of how our psychological system works (and how it doesn’t!); incorporating the principles of innate mental health, resilience, dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT) and relationship modalities, including the work of Dr John Gottman.
I believe in the innate resilience that exists within each human being and have spent my career counselling individuals, couples, and groups from this standpoint. I am passionate about transformative processes that are strength based and empower people to access their potential and to live their best possible lives. I believe in ‘good mood therapy’, i.e. a positive and nurturing space that uncovers inner strength and mental health.
I work with individuals, couples and families and facilitate resilience groups and workshops.
I am registered with the Board of Health Funders as well as the South African Council for Social Service Professionals. I am contracted through medical aid.
‘What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.’
